Walking You Through My Pottermore Sorting!

Today I’m bringing you a bit of a unique post.

Every book lover knows about Harry Potter and all of us book bloggers have definitely taken the Pottermore tests before!

The last time I took them has to be at least several months ago when we went to Universal Studios with cousins, but I’m going to be taking ALL of them again!

That means the House Sorting, Patronus, and Wand! I was going to take the Ilvermorny one but apparently they removed it. 😦

Let’s get to it!

First, I have to make a fake account: I ended up using a random email and my name’s officially bibbity bobbity boo 😉

1. Hogwarts House

First of all, I know I’m a Gryffindor. But I’m curious to see what the Hat will see in me!

(while I’m taking the test, I’m noticing that I’m picking a lot of Ravenclaw answers, so…) (also, didn’t it use to be much longer?!)

I GOT RAVENCLAW!

I have to say, I’m… disappointed. Ravenclaws are great and all, but I’m actually the least Ravenclaw I could be!

*is salty*

First of all, your Hogwarts House is what traits you VALUE the most. Gryffindors value standing up to injustice and taking risks. Ravenclaws value creativity and the power of knowledge. Hufflepuffs value being loyal and working hard and honest to get places in life. And Slytherins value being successful and having a drive to accomplish great things.

I know what I value the most, and I’m pretty much 60% Gryffindor, 30% Hufflepuff, and 10% Ravenclaw+Slytherin.

I think I’m also at my most Gryffindor I’ve ever been! I used to be a proud Hufflepuff and a not-so-patriotic Gryffindor and while I still think Hufflepuffs are the best, I know I’m a Gryffindor.

Wow, the Sorting Hat’s wrong on this one.

2. Patronus

The last time I did it I got a dolphin, which definitely matches my personality! I consider it to be my Patronus even now.

I’ve also heard of a lot of people saying that their Patronus was nothing like their personality, so I’m curious to see what it’ll give me this time!

I GOT OTTER!

Hmm, I can see why I got this one! Otters are curious and social, which I guess I am. I still think a dolphin is my true Patronus though 😉

3. Wand

I can’t remember my wand from last time so I’m going into this one with absolutely no expectations!

BEECH WOOD WITH UNICORN HAIR CORE, 10 INCHES, UNBENDING FLEXIBILITY!

Wow, this one actually makes sense! Here’s what Pottermore says about beech wands, taken straight from the website:

The true match for a beech wand will be, if young, wise beyond his or her years, and if full-grown, rich in understanding and experience. Beech wands perform very weakly for the narrow-minded and intolerant.

To be honest, that sounds a lot like me. Not to brag XD but I would say I know a lot about the world, and I’m definitely very open-minded and tolerant.

For the unicorn hair, it says:

If your wand is unicorn hair, this core, according to Ollivander’s notes, ‘generally produces the most consistent magic, and is least subject to fluctuations and blockages. They are generally the most difficult to turn to the Dark Arts.

Hey, that sounds nice! I do think that it would be practically impossible to turn me to the Dark Arts and I’m happy to say I share a wand core with Ron, Cedric, and Neville- some of the most loyal, good-hearted folks in the series.

Obviously the wand length- 10″- is on the shorter side because… I’m very short 😉

As to the ‘unbending flexibility’, here’s what good ol’ Ollivander has to say about that:

Wand flexibility or rigidity denotes the degree of adaptability and willingness to change possessed by the wand-and-owner pair – although, again, this factor ought not to be considered separately from the wand wood, core and length, nor of the owner’s life experience and style of magic, all of which will combine to make the wand in question unique.

That’s really odd since beech is apparently open-minded and now my wand flexibility shows that I’m not open to change?

OH. I GET IT. Actually, this is pretty darn right! I’m extremely tolerant of people from different faiths, races, sexualities, and gender identities (wand wood), I have strong views against what I’d consider ‘evil’, like in politics (wand hair), I am very very into fighting for what’s right (house- Gryffindor, not Ravenclaw!) BUT my views are pretty much set in stone.

I’ve done extensive research to decide what I believe in regarding politics, toleration, and more, and I highly highly doubt that you’ll be able to change my mind.

So this does make sense. At least my wand fits my personality lol.

And that’s a wrap! This was kind of fun to do, but I wasn’t happy with my House sorting at all. There were, like, seven questions- that’s definitely not enough to tell! Plus- just because I love books doesn’t mean I’m a Ravenclaw.

If Hermione took this crappy test, she would’ve gotten Ravenclaw but we all know she’s a true Gryffindor. Just like me. 🙄

Also, I just wanted to add a disclaimer; I love the Harry Potter books, but I’ve officially canceled JKR. No one in the fandom likes her anymore, and rightfully so.
