How do I rate books?

My rating system is a little different from everyone else’s.

As you probably know, people usually rate on a scale of 1-5 stars. I used to use this system, too- however, I realized that focusing too much on a rating while reading a book ruins the experience of actually enjoying the story! So here’s a revised system that I believe will work a lot better for me as I read.

1 feather: I did not enjoy this book at all.

3 feathers: This is a decent book and I liked it.

5 feathers: I loved this book! It was really enjoyable.

For clarification, here’s the rundown of what my rating system is: I only rate books as one, three, or five stars/feathers, depending on my enjoyment of it.

Hopefully this makes sense! It may be a little confusing at first, but I think it’ll be the best rating system for both the authors, readers, and myself!
