After her parents’ divorce, Bea’s life became
different in many ways. But she can always look back at the list she keeps in
her green notebook to remember the things that will stay the same. The first
and most important: Mom and Dad will always love Bea, and each other.
When Dad tells Bea that he and his boyfriend,
Jesse, are getting married, Bea is thrilled. Bea loves Jesse, and when he and
Dad get married, she’ll finally (finally!) have what she’s always wanted–a sister. Even though she’s never met Jesse’s daughter, Sonia, Bea is sure that they’ll be “just like sisters anywhere.”
As the wedding day approaches, Bea will learn that making a new family brings questions, surprises, and joy.

5 Reasons To Read Furious Thing (by Jenny Downham) // blog tour

Hey everyone!
When I signed up for this blog tour, I was hoping to get a copy of this book because it sounded so amazing. So when I got accepted to give 5 reasons to read Furious Thing by Jenny Downham, I was definitely excited! (click on the pic to get to the tour schedule). As usual, thank you to FFBC for organizing this tour and giving me this opportunity 🙂

Bad things happen when you’re around, Lex…

That’s what her stepfather tells her. That’s what she believes about herself.

But how can she convince herself and everyone around her that her anger doesn’t make her a monster? If only she could stop losing her temper and behave herself, her stepfather would accept her, her mom would love her like she used to, and her stepbrother would declare his crushing desire to spend the rest of his life with her. She wants these things so badly, she’s determined to swallow her anger and make her family proud.

But pushing fury down doesn’t make it disappear. Instead, it simmers below the surface, waiting to erupt. There’ll be fireworks when it does…

An intensely real story of manipulation and identity, Furious Thing is about the slippery slope of manipulation and how one girl can fight to claim back the spaces that belong to her.

5 Reasons To Read This Book:

1. It’ll keep you guessing

One thing that’s common in most reviews of Furious Thing is the complimenting of the way this book was written. It’s supposed to titillate and to keep you on the edge of your seat and just based on the synopsis, it already is doing a great job of that.

Isn’t a mystery boring when you know exactly what’s going to happen? You do need some stimulation and some sort of kick to the book/movie.

The whole story will leave you jumping between opinion to opinion and wondering what’s true and what/ who you believe. When a story is about gaslighting and emotional manipulation, it’ll be impossible to decide on one opinion, one certain fact that you’re sure of. Nothing is neatly resolved and everything has a different side to it. Continue reading “5 Reasons To Read Furious Thing (by Jenny Downham) // blog tour”

Every Other Weekend (book review + quotes) // blog tour

Hello, everybody!

I just finished reading a really amazing book that I got in the mail for this blog tour– and I’m so, so thankful to FFBC tours and the publisher for this chance!

I’m going to be sharing my review of this book as well as some of my favorite quotes- and boy was it hard to find them! (also, I forgot that I needed quotes until I was done. how smart.)

My Review:

I had to find a way to glimpse a future where I could tell the story I wanted, instead of starring in the never-ending nightmare my parents had cast me in.

Every Other Weekend is a laugh-out-loud and shed-a-few-tears sort of story. And yes, I did both of them, and yes, they both happened multiple times.

It tells the story of Jolene and Adam, two broken teenagers from broken families. Jolene is fiery and fierce but wary of trust- after her parents divorced, she was shuttled between her mother’s toxic hate/love + abuse and her dad’s complete non-existence, forced to live with his new girlfriend that she hates who’s barely a few years older than Jolene. Preparing For An Amazing 2020: Introducing The Happy Tribe Planathon! (blog tour)

Hey everyone!
So, yes, I’ve had a LOT of blog tours lately. But I promise this one is worth it!

A few days ago, Hedy @ Happily Hedy reached out to me and asked if I would be part of the blog tour for something called the Happy Tribe Planathon. Naturally, I was curious. I mean, what does this mean?? A plana-what?

Well, my dear friend, I’m sure you have these questions too. Let me tell you what this amazing program is, though!

The Happy Tribe Planathon is a FREE online event running the last 5 days of December (December 27-31), targeted to planning for 2020! It’s essentially an online planning party, featuring keynotes from expert coaches, printable planners and freebies, giveaways, and more to get you all set and confident for the new year. It sounds absolutely amazing and NECESSARY, and the fact that coaches will be giving pointers should indicate that you need to SELL YOUR SOUL ASAP. (yes, that means sign up.)

Happy Tribe Planathon Official Planner Preview

I’m so pumped for this because I’m a very unorganized person and that’s a fact. My room is constantly messy and I throw clothes, stuffies, and other things across it all the time. I waste time on the internet and generally procrastinate a lot (this is the biggest problem ngl) so not only do I NOT set that many goals, but I don’t even ACHIEVE them.

But somehow? I succeed. Sort of. Not to brag (mwahaha), but I do a LOT of things (school, blogging, singing, violin, dance, speech, debate, table tennis, tennis, extra math classes because I have Asian parents, etc.) and spend a lot of time on them in general. Most of it involves me getting yelled at for not practicing, which I would LOVE TO CHANGE.

This Planathon seems like the Holy Grail to solve all my troubles. It’ll take work, but I’m willing to do it and make 2020 the best I can. Which is why I urge everyone to sign up ASAP!! Even if you aren’t as messy and unorganized as me, I’m sure everyone will find something to benefit from in this.

This is why I hope you sign up for the Planathon! I’m most excited about the planning (okay, that’s cheating, fine.) Or, more specifically, planning my goals and ways to achieve them.

… But that means I need to HAVE goals. WAIT OMG IT’S ALMOST 2020, hold up sawyer, I need to go and scream into a pillow-

I hope you enjoyed this post!

I also hope lots of you sign up for this so we can scream about it together :D. Also, I’ll most likely be doing a follow-up post soon after the Planathon is over, so you’ll get to see how it went and maybe get a few tips even if you didn’t join (if so, SHAME ON YOU FOR MISSING AN OPPORTUNITY).

Thank you to Hedy, as well, for coming up with this amazing idea, organizing it, and reaching out to me!

Are you a messy or organized person? What are your goals for 2020? How do you plan on achieving them? <<for this, I’m telling you, join the Planathon!!

Have a wonderful day!xoxoadiforadi1

RE-BLOGGED: Enter The Village… (TDV blog tour!)

Hey lovely!
I haven’t been very active here on OiaM recently because of life-stuff, HOLIDAYS, and… our very own TDV! So this is actually my other tour stop on The Diamond Village Blog Tour. This is the last post of the tour, so I heartily thank everyone who participated in the tour and everyone who engaged and commented and liked their posts! But most of all, I’d like to thank my fellow bloggers: El, Mukta, Ju, Ash, and Emma! You’ve survived my constant heckling for aesthetics, Ash, and the random demands you had to withstand (Ju- whoops!), gazillions of calls (El… you would get it 😭) the countless designs I asked for (apologies, Mukta!) and some very nasty WP malfunctions (Emma XD). BUT YOU STUCK THROUGH. I THANK YOU VERY VERY MUCH.

TDV Blog schedule
Anyways, this is getting too long because today, my tour stop will be actually RE-BLOGGING the TDV’s first post! So read on to meet some of our first villagers! >>>
